Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

The intersection of Nuku Street and Anga street is very dangerous. Traffic approach from both streets at excessive speed and often cut the corner venturing onto the berm of the property at 1 Nuku Street. There are a number of children who regularly walk or ride their bikes in both streets and they are in danger of being hit by vehicles as are adults who walk their dogs. There is no footpath so people walk on the berm or the road. We have witnessed vehicles screeching around the corner at speed and on occasions travelling on the berm cutting the corner when approaching Into Nuku Street from Anga street. It would be good if there was a giveaway sign or if there was a speed hump placed in one of the streets and if something was placed on the berm corner so that vehicles could not veer onto the berm. Someone is going to get hurt here soon.

Updates

Not a thing has been done about this issue since it was first raised other than someone forwarding it to an engineer.....and there it has stopped. Do we need someone to be hurt or worse killed for some action here?
This is simply a joke now. Another year on and still nothing done about this intersection. No5 even any acknowledgement. What is the purpose of this website if notifications are not followed up on? Come on MDC....get your act together........If I stopped paying my rates you would be on to us but you don’t do anything about this and what are the repercussions for you.....?
