Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Hi We have moved into 28 Ancroft street lately and got little kids at home. There are lot of speeding vehicles on Ancroft street, especially at evening time. There are serious threat to our kids. We have lot of houses on this street now with young families. I request to council for putting some speed bumps on this street to reduce the speed of vehicles.

Updates

I have complained about this to Auckland Council months ago and they’ve forwarded the issue to Auckland Transport. Auckland Transport have replied to me saying as this is a new development they don’t have enough data to justify placing a road bump. They are probably waiting for an accident to happen so a data can be lodged in the files. Hopefully nothing fatal would happen. The have placed road bumps at Brightwell Street a road parallel to Ancroft. And nie everyone’s using Ancroft Street and drives really fast and reckless. Watch this space... next report will be an accident which can easily be predicted.
Another car crash just happened (hope nothing fatal). What’s next Auckland Council ?!?!?
Vehicles passing are getting faster and faster. It’s probably because they know they can get away with it and they know that Auckland Council and Auckland Transport won’t do anything about it. The local police should at least drive-by and/or allocate a patrol car to monitor the safety of pedestrians around the street. Also police visibility around the area between 3PM to 5:30PM when motorist drive through the street. Mobile speed camera “can easily” catch 100 vehicles a day especially around 3-5:30PM.
