Constantly cars are using the cycle lane (to avoid a queue waiting to turn onto Durham Street), heading east at this intersection. This is hazardous to cyclists, as they have to negotiate the nearby tram tracks.
Solution is to increase signage, policing, or put plastic bollards there to keep cars off the cycle lane. This is a major feeder route to the central city for cyclists from Hagley Park.
