Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

The owners of #20 Sandown Ave Mr Swanson and Mrs Hunt have erected barrer posts on and around the council berm. This very dangerous should vehicles need to take evasive action. Cyclists may need to pull over to the berm and with this election persons may well come to harm.Persons running at night will not see these. Totally Dangerous.

Updates

Problem solved as street light goes on at night directly opposite. The posts are not dangerous, and would fall over when struck. The 3 x 2 battens and rope are only a temporary measure until all building of new homes is finished in the subdivision. Permission has been given in writing from M D council staff. The owners spent $2723.50 on a concrete berm on council land, which are responsible to maintain if it is damaged. The owners of 22 Sandown Ave Mr & Mrs Hodder son drove over our new concrete and grass with a big Kenworth truck and trailer unit. No respect for other peoples property. He did the same on two other property's at the end of the street, who have also erected barriers. Not one contractor or neighbour has needed to use our front berm to date.
