Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

The rocks at the end of the road leading down to the beach are Precariously balanced and the public are able to climb over these and do so to get to the beach.

Thank you for your enquiry. Your request 162716 has been reviewed by one of our friendly Customer Services staff and will assigned to the appropiate department.
Request 162716 updated at Waitomo District Council. null
Request 162716 closed at Waitomo District Council. WDC has constructed temporary rock within the road reserve to act as cladding to the embankment. It is not a community asset intended to be used by/or a service to the public. The rock embankment is only temporary and is not a permanent structure. The area of the road above the rock embankment is fenced, and a warning sign is in place. People who choose to climb over the security fence, are not only in breach of the WDC Land Transport Bylaw, but are risking their health and safety in doing so. We recommend that you notify the Police immediately should you observe this behavior taking place.
