Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Statue in Albert Park vandalised

The statue of a woman holding a dove that faces the gardener's house in Albert Park has been vandalised. Her right-hand previously held a sword. The bottom part of the sword has been broken off, and it's just a matter of time until someone breaks off the top part and her right hand too. The statue is closest to the main entrance on Princes Street. See attached photo.

The statue has now lost the rest of her sword and her right hand.
