Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Viral advertising for Red Bull in Newmarket Train Station

A bike lock with a sign attached advertising Red Bull drinks has been attached to a hand-rail in the courtyard next to the Newmarket Train station. (I reported seeing exactly the same sign attached to a bike stand on Queen street several months ago).

Updates

I posted this issue on 10 May and an email was sent via this site to the council on the same day. I received an email from the council on 16 May saying it would be forwarded on to Auckland Transport. As of today 7 June at mid-day, the advertising was still present.
