Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Dangerous blind side road

The exit to the right-of-way to properties at 392 Redoubt Road presents a danger, especially for those many residents exiting the right-of-way onto Redoubt Road. Whilst the lawful speed along Redoubt Road is 50kmh, most progress along this road at speeds in excess of 50kmh, resulting in a high risk exit from the right-of-way. One resident from this right-of-way has been 'tee-boned' to date, with many expressing concern at 'near misses'!! What is required is either, a 'judder bar' in the road close to the blind right-of-way; OR, a mirror opposite the exit, OR, the severe pruning of the trees and shrub age from the property closest to the right-of-way exit which would allow 'exiters' a better vision of what traffic was approaching. Of great concern to us, is the fact that 4 of our young grandchildren live in this right-of-way (392A), and they are subjected to unacceptable risk whenever exiting the right-of-way to Redoubt Road. We would appreciate your attention to fixing this potential risk to 'life and limb'. Yours sincerely, GEOFF BENNETT Bennett@norfolk.nf 021 294 6583
