Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Now that winter is upon us, can you please remove (or at least undertake a major prune) one or both of the trees immediately opposite the entrance to our motel (Gables Lakefront Motel, 130 Lake Terrace), as they significantly interfere with our guests worldclass, and iconic view of the lake and mountains beyond? I submitted a similar request a few weeks ago, but have not received a response.

Updates

Thank you for your enquiry. Request 1310538 has been officially lodged and assigned to the relevant staff member at TaupoDC. Future updates to this request will appear on this page. Forwarded to Council Arbourist
Request 1310538 updated at TaupoDC.
Request 1310538 updated at TaupoDC. Reassigned. Current TDC policy requires that trees are not removed or trimmed for views. There is currently an agreement in place that these trees will be removed some time in the future and raplaced. Until that point, the trees will be left alone as the constant topping causes rot and decay in the upper canopy
Request 1310538 closed at TaupoDC. as per above. Current agreement with council stands that trees will possibly be removed next year
