Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Homemade signage, road cones etc used to privatise public parking bays

On the corner of Wood Street and Elizabeth Street a variety of objects have been used to privatise legal curbside parking spaces that should be available for use by the general public. Could I request that Auckland Transport Remove non-endorsed parking signage and objects such as road cones and similar from its roads where no traffic management plan has been approved. I note that this practice seems common throughout the Freeman bay area. Ideally I would like to see regular sweep preformed by the counsel as there is an implied threat of retribution against private citizens who ignore the DIY signage or move objects blocking carparks
