Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Speeding cars

We often have cars racing around the corner to a dead end street this is very dangerous as there are many pedestrians as there is no footpath people tend to walk on the road. Large amounts if children walk along here and I wish to request a slow down children sign to be erected on the corner of Blake st and the esplanade.

Updates

Hamilton Road and Miami Avenue are very dangerous. Lots of kids cross to get to school with no pedestrian crossing. I raised the issue in January, took it to the local board in February, an AT engineer came in May or June and now we have some coloured chalk on the ground. The speeds are still too fast as I wait for a bus and watch the cars hoon down the road on the way to the ferry. Please advise when the urban designer is due and get onto to putting in a crossing and having slow to 30kms/hour in Surfdale. Shirin
