Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

HAving real issues on the street with Vehicles speeding up and down the hill section of Arthur st. We have a 21/2 year old son and keep him well clear. Vehicles are accellerating at the bottom of the hill to well in excess of the speed limit as they go up ...and do the same as they go down. Is it possible to have speed bumps introduced to reduce the risk of a child being run over by a speeding vehicle....or does that need (and a child killed or injured)before these sorts of requests be looked at?

Updates

During April 2013 our land lady was struck by a speeding vehicle. She lost a lot of blood and spent close on a month in ICU. She received a large cut from her tigh up the side of her body. Its now October and she is still unable to return to work due the agony she still suffers from. She was struck by a motorist in the morning while she was unlocking her vehicle. Why was she opening her car during on coming traffic? Because this road is extremely busy during peak hours and there is no break in the traffic. Speed bumps and traffic lights would be perfect for Abbotts Way and Lynn Ave. I believe someone was killed on Lynn Ave last night. Surely enough is enough????
