Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Coming off SH1 towards Pokeno, there are 80km/hr signs not at the start of the off ramp, but at the end, right before the round about leading onto DeanRd/ Great South Rd... It just seems ludicrous to have the speed signs at THE END of the off ramp, immediately before the roundabout!!!

Updates

Argh...sorry I put the "arrow" in the wrong spot.. should be at the end of The Exit ramp...not the beginning of The On ramp
The Council says that the speed sign is completely compliant because Dean Rd and Great South Rd have an 80kph speed limit. I do understand what they are saying, but truthfully, that seems to be crazy too. GS Rd, goes down to 50kph in about a 100 yards!! and Dean Rd, well 80kph seems a bit crazy too! AND contrary to what they said...no record of accidents on the roundabout..there have indeed been several, the last 1 just a few weeks ago!!
