Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Right-turn lane not clearly delimited

Right-turn lane from Stoddard Rd into Glenarm Ave is often occupied by vehicles coming out from the New World supermarket and eastbound traffic on Stoddard Rd, trying to turn right a short distance away at the May Rd/Denbigh Ave/Stoddard Rd intersection. Many such vehicles either drive on the right-turn lane/median strip all the way from Glenarm Ave through to May Rd, and/or will change lane onto the median strip without indicating. I have had quite a few close shaves as I change lanes to turn into Glenarm Ave, often needing to use my horn or be forced to make a last-minute lane change to avoid overshooting the intersection. Suggest that a "keep left" arrow be installed at the Stoddard Rd/Glenarm Ave intersection to alert drivers of the possibility of vehicles or bikes in that right-turn lane.
