Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Safety and Security is Compromised on Dark Street

Street lights are too far apart from each other and have dull, yellow lamps that do not light up the street enough. There have been many incidents of street crimes (fights and brawls) related to gang activity, cars being broken into and/or stolen, abuse, loitering, house break-ins etc. This is very serious and I trust that the Council will take it seriously too. Too add, Fergusson Domain is increasingly more dangerous at night time. Lights and CCTV cameras on both Waitangi Road and within Fergusson Domain are a must to stop these often violent crimes from happening again.
