Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

  • Swing Bridge Rotting timber
On the true left structure. The joist between the uprights that supports the footbridge is rotting. It might have plenty of life left in it but given it is an important structural component only an expert will know. See photos

  • Logging trucks
For months now there has been increased logging truck activity on our road. Truck movements start as early as 2.45 am braking loudly outside our property as they approach a bend heading north on East Coast Road . Are logging trucks allowed to operate all through the night? It seems an unreasonable hour to wake people who have to go to work on weekdays!
  • Dangerous road surface
There is a bend at 1135 East Coast Road. On the seaward side, the road surface is broken up and covered in debris. There are also ridges in the surface caused by heavy vehicles. It appears a partial repair may have been attempted. But the road surface is still a real hazard for anyone on two wheels and I would not be surprised if the surface were to cause a bike accident before long. Photo attached. Please can this be assessed ASAP? Thanks.
