Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

I HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL BEFORE SEE THIS WEBSITE REPORT http://fixmystreet.org.nz/issue/4767 TODAY JUST BEFORE 8:45AM I WAITED AT THE CURB TO CROSS THE ROAD AT DOMAIN DRIVE NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF THAT ROAD & PARK ROAD. ABOUT 5 METERS AWAY FROM THE RAISE PART OF THE ROAD, RAISED TO THE SAME LEVEL OF THE FOOTPATH, A MOTORIST CAME ALONG AND STOPPED, HE SAID SOMETHING LIKE “HURRY UP AND CROSS” I WAIVED HIM ON, I REPLIED THAT IS NOT A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING, AND HAD TO WALK BEHIND THE CAR, HE HANDED ME MORE ABUSE USING WORDS IT WOULD BE BEST TO PUT ON THIS WEBSITE, I TOLD HIM “YOU NEED TO LEARN THE RODE CODE” HE GAVE ME MORE ABUSE THREATENING TO PUT ME IN HOSPITAL, AT ONE STAGE HE TOLD ME TO COME CLOSER TO HIM AND REPEAT WHAT I SAID “YOU NEED TO LEARN THE ROAD CODE. UNFORTUNATELY & FORTUNATELY FOR THE MOTORIST I TOOK DOWN HIS CAR REGISTRATION WRONG, BECAUSE WHEN I WAS MAKING A REPORT AT AUCKLAND CENTRAL POLICE STATION THEY COULD NOT GET A MATCH ON MY DESCRIPTION........................................................................... PLEASE this needs to be fixed up, either make it look like a pedestrian crossing, or put this type of crossing in the road code. THEN I WILL TREAT IT LIKE A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AND WALK IN FRONT OF THE MOTORISTS, SO THEY CAN MOVE ON WITHOUT WASTING TIME. The police report reference number is 160605/5678, even the lady at the police station taking my report agreed with me on what is or is not a pedestrian crossing. And this incident did not happen at a pedestrian crossing. (I had to go back later to take the photo, when it was safer)
