Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Insufficient street lighting

The street lights on Farquhar Road all the way between Farquhar Road and Phelps Place (see red pin on map)are insufficient. The lights are far apart, lighting is poor and make the roads and neighbourhood unsafe for pedestrians and motorists. Twice my house has been burgled and many of my neighbours are unhappy and feel insecure because of the poor lighting and resulting darkness.

Updates

Particularly the area close to bus stop 5535 is poorly lit. This worries me as my wife walks along this road at night and is making us feel very unsafe.
