Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Lights or something needed

The day the new motorway opened up the traffic along Halswell Junction Rd increased 500%. It is now near impossible for cars to turn right out of Edmonton Rd and many are turning left then doing a uturn at the neighbouring truck place just to turn right. As this is predominately an industrial area the problem is exaggerated by the number of trucks that can't turn and traffic is often backed up down Edmonton Rd with people unable to turn and those that can are going left first. Another accident at the corner today no doubt caused by frustration and taking too small a gap. Someone will get hurt. If they haven't already been. The new give way rule hasn't helped the situation I know the traffic volume may be temporary till the new motorway extension opens but it can't carry on as it is for that many years.
