Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Note: I reported the problem with street lights by phone to AKL city council on 9th or 10th May 2013. To date nothing has been done. 1. The street light opposite Carlton Road and on the station side of Station Road is not working. 2. The street light on the corner of Station Road and Birch Road is not working. 3. There are NO LIGHTS WHATSOEVER further down Station Road in the stretch of road opposite the A&P grounds (stockyard). This unlit street is dangerous for train commuters returning to their parked cars at night. I commute from Pukekohe to Auckland CBD, and when I return to my car in the evening it is already dark, and I cannot see where I am stepping. I am also nervous to walk down to my car alone, as there are no houses or people about at the A&P grounds end of the road. It is deserted at night, and not a safe environment for women especially. REQUIRED: a. Immediately repair the existing lights that don't work. b. Install new street lights in Station Road opposite the A&P grounds.
