Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Roads too narrow for cars to be parked on both sides of streets

The roads close to Becroft Park become congested with parked cars whenever there are events on at Becroft Park. The affected roads are Becroft Drive (between Tristram Ave and Merriefield Ave), Havelock Ave (from Becroft Drive to Raines Ave) and Raines Ave. These roads need to have yellow 'no-parking' lines on one side of the road, as when cars are parked on both sides of the road, they are too narrow to safely drive down, and only one-way traffic is possible. Pax Ave has already had yellow lines added so parking is only possible on one side of the road. This is most prevalent on Saturday and Sunday mornings when there is junior sport, and there are a number of children walking the street, and due to cars parked on both sides of the road it is difficult to see the children when driving, increasing the risk of accident.
