Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Speed Issues-speed humps required

Cars speed down Oreil Avenue at speeds of up to 100kms regularly, all hours of the day and night. It's a popular street for boy racers to do burn outs and to test their speed limits. This is extremely dangerous given the primary school located half way down the road and makes me feel unsafe when turning into my driveway. Something needs to be done before there is a serious accident. Can we have speed humps installed at least?

Updates

we have people entering Lazurite drive from Westgate drive and accelerating up Lazurite drive at speed with turbo blow off valve going once sometime twice before they pass Arlose place where they either carry on at speed up Lazurite drive of drive up Arlose place. Some come down Arlose place and wheel spin as they head to Westgate drive turbo valve blowing. I have seen a metallic blue subaru and a small 2 door red japanese car rego starting with AT. There are a lot of children in the area with access to walks to the shopping centre who have to cross Lazurite drive to get there. We must have some traffic calming to stop these hoons before a child is hurt. We had one child knocked of his bike last year.
