Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Several street lights are missing along SH30 near and on the Whakamaru Dam, and along Pokuru Road North towards Whakamaru School. There are several older lamp posts along the private property along Pokuru Road North that need to be fixed for our safety.

Updates

Thank you for your enquiry. Request 1121481 has been officially lodged and assigned to the relevant staff member at TaupoDC. Future updates to this request will appear on this page.
Request 1121481 closed at TaupoDC. Streetlights along SH30 and on Whakamaru Dam are owned by Mighty River Power Ltd. The power supply and streetlights along Pokuru Rd were originally installed and owned by Mighty River Power. They were abandoned prior to Council taking over the Village and the Council do not intend to maintain these lights. The Council practice is puting lights on the carraigeway with speed restrictions in urban areas.
