Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Passing-by heavy vehicle vibrates my house

This year, 2022, the speed hump has been designed and installed so heavy vehicles can cross without reducing speed, while ordinary vehicles are forced to slow down. From my perpective, the hump design allows fast-passing heavy vehicles to cross, hit the hunp hard, then create the road vibration, which shakes my house. This really concerns me as my house is on the main bus route and the vibration is very consistent and noticeable. I really wish if the hump is redesigned so heavy vehicles are also forced to cross at low speed, and cause no road vibration.
