Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Unnecessary Traffic Congestion

At peak times over 90% of traffic travels from Whitford Park Road into Brookby Road or Vise versa. Unfortunately the Stop Sign means that all traffic should come to a stop - most do not but they do slow to less than 5 km/h as the visibility is not the best. However there is virtually no need to stop. If a mini roundabout were put there then Right of way rules would prevent the huge jams we get as soon as the traffic volumes increase. I have been in queues back to Sandstone road and the only issue was the Stop sign - there was no other traffic and no blockage after the stop sign. Many Thanks.

Updates

Now in October and there does not appear that any comment has been made in the roundabout suggestion I made in March. Now there are workmen there until December. This would be a perfect time to do the roundabout as the men and machinery are there anyway - or is that too much to ask????
