Once again a dreadful stench coming from the landfill this morning and again tonight. Not acceptable when we have to close our windows to keep the dreadful smell out.

Request 163064 updated at Waitomo District Council. The odour complaint has been investigated, the landfill is using industry guideline techniques and operation practices to ensure odour related issues are reduced as much as possible. In this case it seems most likely related to an incident of burning rubbish in a nearby park not caused by the landfill itself.
