Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Very slippery footpath along Marsden Street - especially when wet

I reported this to Northshore Actionline this Winter, after my son slipped and banged his head on concrete while walking to Hauraki School (Marsden St has back walkway entrance - used by dozens of families to reduce congestion at main entrance on Jutland Road). Both my children have had near misses/slips numerous times. I am aware of other children slipping also and hitting heads or bottoms on the concrete also. The tiny stones on this path (it is extremely old) get super slippery when wet as their surface is so smooth. On Wednesday 24th Nov., Marsden Road was resurfaced but the footpath remains untouched -in a dangerous state. I was hoping to bring this to the councils attention now while the weather is good so something may be done about it before next winter.
