Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

As a person who is visually impaired, I find the level of platform lighti8ng at Linden Station, North end, quite inadequate. It is especially poor along the path from the station to Linden Avenue. I find walking down the path at night, with a crowd just off a train, as a stressful experience, being unable to clearly see where other people are about me. The lightring that is at the station there seems quite antiquated, casting pools of light, rather than modern lamps which are set higher and cast a more penetrating light (eg. sodium vapour lights). Could the end posts of the station sign in the middle of the platforms be painted with some flourescent paint so that it will better stand out in the dark - I have often almost walked into it. Currently they ar black or dark blue.
