Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Orakei Rd - Remuera Rd Traffic Lights

The road works on Orakei Rd have resulted in only one lane at the traffic lights where there were two. One to turn left onto Remuera Rd or go straight ahead down Ascot Ave and one to turn right onto Remuera Rd. The right turning traffic light is never showing green indicating there is no right hand turn however there is no signage to that effect. If a car wanting to turn right waits for the green light and doesn't receive one , NO CARS go through the light resulting in a long line of cars backing up down Orakei Rd. A sign would alleviate this issue entirely - it is easy for all cars to either turn left onto Remuera Rd or proceed down Ascot Ave. Right turning traffic can then easily go right into Cotter Ave and return up onto Remuera Rd. BUT THERE NEEDS TO BE A "NO RIGHT TURN" SIGN. It took 6 sets of lights to get through them today as the green light phasing is very short.
