Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

There has been a small slip on the walkway between no 25 and no 27 Waipapa St Kuratau. As a result the council have temporarily closed the walkway. This walkway is a public amenity which provides access to the Lake Reserve below. It is used by many people, especially in summer. Will this walkway be reinstated before Labour Weekend? If not when?

Updates

Request 1318041 closed at TaupoDC. Tried to call but no active voicemail so couldnt leave a message. Walkway was permanently closed by a Turangi Tongariro Community Board resolution and will not be re-opened in the foreseeable future. Council still retain ownership of the accessway between 25 and 27 Waipapa Street should a alternative be viable at a later date.
