Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

pedestrain indicators blocked by buses, nusanse for VIP's

As one might be walking off Grafton bridge, Buses on Symonds Street sometimes block the pedestrian "cross now" indicators, most often the reason why this happens, buses creep forward so other buses behind them can use the free turn on to Karangahape R. With all the Visually Impaired Pedestrians (VIP) around (and this is why all the footpath cancer has been rolled out) this needs urgent attention, otherwise the footpath cancer is only a big fast and only place there so normal pedestrians can slip on it when wet and injure themselves.
