Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Tree on roadside outside 12 Tuakau Road Pukekohe

The tree is blocking the view of traffic coming down the hill as we and our neighbours reverse out on to the road. The have been several near misses as the traffic is usually travelling at speed. Several branches have broken since a major storm on 6 December. We reported the matter to the council as the tree needs trimming. As branches have broken, we have disposing of most of them in our green waste bin. Trees within the area eg Queen Street have been trimmed, but the trees on our road and Kitchener Road were ignored.

Updates

Because of another near miss, we have trimmed the lower branches of the tree and disposed of the vegetation in our green waste bin (which we pay for). However, some trimming is still required in the upper branches as a result of 6 December storm damage.
