Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Congestion of Traffic

There is heavy congestion of traffic due to poor traffic light ushering. As the road is narrow, right turning vehicles from Ilam Road to Riccarton Road have to wait for the whole flow of straight going traffic before turning. During peak hours, the flow of traffic doesn't end, so only 1 right turning vehicle can turn with each traffic light change, thus holding up all the vehicles behind, including those intending to head straight. Suggesting a right turn only light to clear the right turning vehicles, so as to smooth up the traffic. Cheers.
