Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Speeding cars and heavy traffic

Shelly beach road has high traffic usage and very few drivers adhere to the speed limit. There are no footpaths or judder bars making it extremely dangerous for pedestrians. There are many families with young children in this street. There have been numerous close calls. There is a scoutt den at the end of the street which increases traffic flow. Judder bars at the very least would go a long way in preventing an accident.
