Taking a break...

FixMyStreet is going offline shortly, probably permanently. The software is old and needs a complete rewrite, the site is being bombarded by spammers, and it is debatable whether councils are receiving and/or acting on FixMyStreet reports.

As of now, it is not possible to post new issues, or updates to published issues.

If you have submitted on FixMyStreet, thank you for playing a part in one of Aotearoa/New Zealand's early civic tech projects.

Wharf Road has recently been resealed and the lines repainted. The footpath/cycleway, however, used to have a line of separation barriers keeping it distinct from the roadway and offering some (slight) measure of safety. These have not been replaced. Walking along this footpath, particularly at night, is currently very dangerous as traffic travels along here very fast. I would very much like to see barriers with reflectors in order to make it safe for people walking from the bus stop at the other end of the road and to stop cars straying onto the footpath area. Thank you.
